The Gallery at YouNique Wellbeing - January 2025
The Gallery at YouNique Wellbeing Studios is on Windmill Drive in Bexhill-on-Sea. The Gallery aims to support and promote local artists through themed monthly exhibitions.
We hold a launch event on the first Friday evening of each month, between 18.30 and 20.00. This is to introduce our new exhibitions.
The Gallery is open for visitors every Thursday between 13.00 and 16.00. The Gallery is also available for viewings during YouNique’s normal operating hours, if classes and workshops are not taking place.
If you would like to submit a piece of 2D artwork for one of our exhibitions, please read the information, terms and conditions (below).
The Gallery at YouNique Wellbeing - Exhibition Information, Terms and Conditions
Main Points:
Themes and key dates are shown in the Exhibition Timetable.
Artwork must be your own original work and be free from any copyright restrictions or intellectual property disputes.
Not all artwork submitted can be accepted – there is limited space. The Gallery’s curatorial decisions are final.
To be considered, a digital submission is required first. Please email an accurate photo of the artwork (including any framing) and state the dimensions to clarekersley@yahoo.co.uk
If chosen, artwork must be delivered to YouNique Wellbeing Studios at the requested time (see timetable).
There is a hanging fee of £5 per piece exhibited. This is payable in cash when artwork is handed in.
If artwork is not included in an exhibition after being handed in, it must be collected at the time stated (see timetable).
Exhibited artwork will be shown for approximately 1 month or until sold (whichever comes first).
Artwork must be for sale. The Gallery takes 20% commission on all sales.
Artwork should have D rings or the equivalent securely attached for hanging purposes.
The Gallery space is used for classes and workshops, including yoga and dance, so there may be times when the room becomes warm and humid. Artwork should be framed or mounted to prevent warping. Heavy frames cannot be accepted.
If artwork is exhibited but does not sell, it must be collected at the time stated (see timetable).
The Gallery does not have storage space so unfortunately artwork not collected at the times specified will have to be given away or disposed of.
Each piece of artwork handed in to the Gallery must be accompanied by the signed Declaration and also a plain white A6 size (postcard size) label with the following information written or printed in black:
Title of the work
Description/explanation of the work
Artist’s name
Price
Artist’s contact details and/or a QR code/link to a website may also be included
A great deal of care will be taken when handling and displaying artwork. In the unlikely event of loss or damage neither the Gallery nor YouNique Wellbeing Studios will be held liable.
The Gallery and YouNique Wellbeing may use images of exhibition artwork for marketing purposes.
